Hello blog,
Yes, I'm still alive today. Yesterday was quite an eventful day for me. Started my day with a 1.5 hour trip to Bukit Kapar in Kelang for Jirah's akad nikah ceremony. Syawal and his wife (Ainurul), Lokman without his wife, Bopi and his girlfriend and Zul was there. Some juniors (Serih, Syah and Ajeep) were there as well. It was fun meeting up with my gang from American Top U batch again. I wondered why some people didn't turn up that day. Oh well, maybe it's really none of my business to ponder for their whereabouts anyway.
I then stopped at Seri's house in Meru after spending a 2 good hours chatting with old buddies in Bukit Kapar. The only reason why I stopped there was to visit her mother. I heard she's not feeling right. In my way to her house, I didn't know what to buy at first. Finally I settled at buying watermelon for her mom. Mana aku tau dowhh nak beli apa untuk mak orang yang tak sihat!! Yeah, I know - cheesy! But I guess I'm learning something. Next time, bring some gifts whenever we visit our friends' place. Yep, I had a good chat with her mom while waiting for Seri to get ready. Yeap, I love having conversation with my friend's parents. Don't know why and don't ask me why.
We both went to Erfan's gathering in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam. I thought we'd be late but apparently, we were the first. Ahhhh...being a good guest, I engaged myself in conversation with Erfan's mother and his aunt as well. Much to learn from this businesswoman though. See, his mother is a single mother raising a few kids in the house and runs business too. Obviously, I've got to learn one or two things from her - character, values and virtues, PR skills etc.
We actually celebrated Erfan for his departure to Brisbane this coming Tuesday. He will further his study there and hopefully a year and a half later, he will get his degree. I've come to know him through my volunteer network and I find him a very good friend and an accomodating one too. Being humble although he lives in a mansion (to my standard of housing scale), and being the youngest among the volunteers makes him likeable to everyone. I rarely find a gentleman like himself. We all had a good time teasing him and his mother too for being too macho and not feeling sad for this departure. I remember my mom was sobbing when I was at the airport 7 years ago. And surprisedly, she hugged me just before I walked down the escalator to the Immigration booth downstair.
Okay, I think it's enough for today. By the way, I had my meeting with Dato Syed Fakhri at his office in Menara Tun Razak. That meeting was something eye-opening for me. But later I'll write about it here. Gain another friend, gain another experience.
OH yeah people, I've been attending Prof. Syed Naguib Al Attas's discourse for this past two weeks. He's genuinely a great international scholar and a famous one too from Msia. If anyone would like to attend his discourse, it will be held in Institut Integriti Malaysia on Jalan Duta at 9 pm, Friday.
Have a blast Sunday everyone!
