Random Thoughts Again

Okay..bear with me ok? I've read a few news flash at MalaysiaKini.com and a few of them struck me.

Program Latihan Khidmat Negara
Why the hell the government is organizing this Program Latihan Khidmat Negara in the first place? It seems to me, until today there has not been a clear indicative occurence to show that this program is actually benefitting anyone other than wasting the taxpayers' money ie. papa's money. Participants fighting, trainers beating praticipants, immoral acts occuring within the camp compound, maltreating participants by the trainers etc. Are these the impacts we should expect from this multimillion dollars project?

I dont buy the argument of trying to unify malaysian community through this program. To me, this program doesn't serve its prime objective. In fact, it only makes the situation worst. The only thing that can unify people is by educating the public through a well-studied education scheme. Unfortunately due to improper implementation of our national educational system, it has led to this chaotic disposition and out of hand. We always believe that our education system is the best in the world and we unashame by the fact that most of our colleges rank below than 30 tiers among colleges in Asia. We conveniently blame the envious plot by foreign media to smear our academic image without first study the real situation.

Moreover, now there is move to fine those unwilling participants to join this program. Oh my god, now the country is becoming authoritarian more than ever. I wonder if this is the democracy according to 'our' mould means to die-hard BN supporters. This is a sick idea indeed!

To my so-called leaders of country, let me tell ya somethin' ok?

Putting all of people from different races wont do any good without having prepared mindset. When you add the maltreatment and lack of facilities plus overboozing media attention, it only adds pressure to them. Instead of becoming ambitious about this program, why don't you start small? Do it in a controlled condition, call all the academicians, military personnel, motivational speakers and religious authority to develop its module. I'm sure It wont harm anyone though because this will include everyone. Nobody will feel they're left out since this suppose to be a community effort. Then you do the study and then table the findings to the Parliament as it is a people's sacred hall. If the findings are good enough and the negative impacts are minimal, you go ahead and do it. I'm all out for it. Otherwise, correct them first and then you can carry on the project. Not just suddenly announce about it without asking the community's inputs.

You can't just simply say you want to have it by tomorrow no matter what it takes. Just because the previous PM said so, and then you had to jump on it. I would say, "That is soooo moron, you idiot!".

Ezam is acquitted from accusation of breaching the OSA

Alhamdulillah, finally the truth has prevailed. No word can describe my gratitude to Him for showing the right thing. I praise Justice KN Segara for making the right move by declaring Ezam innocent of all charges against him. I'm not Keadilan supporter though but I do think Ezam should be credited for his courage to expose corruption in our state leadership.

When I was in high school, I was taught that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said, "Berkatalah benar sekali pun ianya pahit". Indeed, what Ezam did was the right thing. He exposed the corruption made by Dato Seri Rafidah Aziz and ex- chief minister of Melaka, Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Tambi Chik. I am not saying this because I despise both of them. In fact if somebody exposed the corruption made by Tuan Guru Nik Aziz and Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi and he has a credible evidence to back it up, I'm all out for it! Seriously!

What we desperately need nowadays is honest. That's the way I see it. Honest leadership with magnanimous calibre are hard to find these days. Those people in office right now should realize that they are just the servants of people. We entrust our country to them so that they can steer the country with pride into the 21st century without compromising their integrity and their credibility as leaders. Corruption, dishonesty and abuse of position are the last thing we want from them.

Therefore, I say, go ahead with reformation! Some people are really scared to reform themselves because they believe they already in their comfort zone. Personally, I am willing to trade my today's comfort for tomorrow's better condition both politically and economically for it will benefit my children and my future generation. As far as I can see, the 'reformasi' movement has not done any damage to the country. It only strengthens the country. The way I see it, this movement is the result from the surpressed voice of rakyat. Bear in mind that Malaysians people are not like Indonesians. I believe we are much more educated in term of handling our emotion but let's not toy with our emotion, ok? The more you surpress the rakyat, the more they will retaliate. When I say retaliate, it doesn't mean that rakyat will resort to violence. The rakyat will do in their best capacity within the boundary of law. Nowadays rakyat really don't have any means to channel their concern because almost all available channels are politically-controlled by these immoral and politically-bankrupt culprits.

If one wants to say that the reformasi movement is nothing than a mass of people terrorizing the country, I beg to differ. Often the ones who make damage during the reformasi gathering are the police. They provoke the public without signs. They broke the private properties at their whims. They terrorized the public by their 'cota'. This was clearly proven during the 100,000 gathering at Jalan Kebun, Shah Alam. The location of gathering is a private place. The police has no right whatsoever to stop this because it wasn't held at public place. Moreover, the traffic jammed caused by throngs of people shouldn't be an excuse to stop the gathering if you compare to Incubus or Linkit Siang..oops Linkin Park concert. The right to have a peace gathering is a constitutional right enshrined in our very Constitution. And so does with the right to have freedom of speech. Why can't they understand this? Or did they have to act to protect their political master?

Oh by the way, freedom of speech is meant for willing to argue the political will or move in the political stage ie Parliament. It doesn't mean one can simply say anything he wants without focusing on which topic does he want to talk about. I learnt this from PHIL 002 course, The Loss of the Legitimacy of Government.

Ahhh..I know it's no point of whining about this issue here. The only thing to do is to vote for the right people and the right political party in 2009. So far, I just have to entrust my country to these leaders, hoping that they will perform much better than they were in the previous term. Restore the honest and sincere leadership, bring our country to its peak performance without compromising any good values in it. That's all I want. Are they too much?
