Here we go again, Random Thoughts!

Random Thought 1: Notting Hills, Julia Roberts & My version of Notting Hills
Okay, where shall we begin? Humm..I just finished watching the movie, Notting Hills, at Channel 44 (I can't recall its name though! My brain cells are dying faster than I thought). Anyway, this movie brought a few interesting points for me to think about. First, perhaps I am drooling Julia Roberts for no apparent reasons. See, I am not her big fan though, I'd just like to see her in movies. Maybe it's because of her good look, secondly because the way she bring out herself are kinda casual and nonchalant (yeah..like other Hollywood actors/actresses don't do that, aight?). But anyway, she's my favourite and her movies are usually my type of movies. I guess some of you may get what I am trying to say. Ermm..maybe you don't.

Let's cut to the chase. Okay, I like to see her in romantic comedy kind of movies. Pelican Brief and Conspiracy Theory are the two movies which I think quite distinctive from the rest. The rest, they are just romantic comedies, wonderfully crafted to put us in a state of simple, plain and yet jovial type of romantic. Hoping that it would happen to us, no matter where and when, we will just keep on dreaming on that after we watch her movies.

Okay, these whole Notting Hills hypes are actually representatives of a few episodes of my life, at least that is what I thought. I would think so. Somehow they reflect a moment I had not so long ago. How actually a simple friendship turned into an infatuation (at least from my standpoint)..and when it came to the point of 'mutual understanding'..or perhaps a 'superficial mutual understanding', a dispute came through and we just lost in space between Europe and US continent. But Notting Hills seemed to have a good ending but mine was rather a half-baked plots with sad ending. But why I put her in Anna Scott's spot despite the fact that she isn't any pertinent persona anywhere on this earth except in my heart? I seriously have no clue.

Yeah..that was one of my random thoughts. And everytime I listened to this song, "Seiring dan Sejalan", sang by late Broery Marantika and Sharifah Aini (should I address her as Dato?), I could as if listening to her voice singing the lines next to my ears. Hmm..she liked to sing this song sometimes whenever we had conversation over the continent through telephone line (well believe me, we would sometime go on duet for this song over the telephone? God..I'm surprising myself here!). Oh yeah, I could'nt deny the fact that I sometimes miss her sweet and cheeky voice over the phone, calling me all the way UK just to say she missed me with an additional line, "as a friend", just before she went to bed. Alas, it's over now. Not that I would love to continue this so called 'friendship' but perhaps I did a stupid mistake and it wasn't an intentional mistake (or else, it would'nt be called a mistake, am I right here?). We broke into a fight and things hadn't improved ever since then. We both sub-consciously resolved to an eternal broke up of friendship and what is left is just a good and a slight bitter memories for what we have in between us. Fortunately, we never met in real life! If we were, I am sure my life would probably has gone haywired (for a brief moment, of course).

Am I revealing too much of myself here?

Random Thought 2: What is it men and nudity?
Hmmm..a quite uncasual question to be posted here. But hey, it wasn't me asking this question. It was Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) in Notting Hills on the morning in the bed with William (Huh Grant). She further commented on why men are obsessed with nudity, especially the breasts. Breasts are something every woman, (such like your mom, your sister, your female friends) has and they are only a collection of milk-secreting glands, at least that's what she claimed. Then William was stumped for a second and then he peeped Anna's breast before he continued to his argument.

Yeah, what is it men and nudity? Quite honestly, I believe everyone has this devilish temptation of looking at nude girls. No one, not even the mullahs of Taliban, would disagree with me because we all are humans and human is subjected to his own desire. No matter if the inclination is upon an object, a person or an abstract ideas.

But why the breasts?

Well, Mama told me before when I was in high school that men are actually liking to see ladies' bumps and breasts for no reason. She told this because she read a research paper (maybe it's social psychology research) brought home by Baba. I kinda agree with Mama although it wasn't instantaneously. Breasts can be very sexy objects to some men and they look very much appealing compare to other parts of woman. Or else, why all the fashion designers nowadays are making clothes that are tight and exposed at the chest part? Look around you. You'll know what I am trying to say.

I guess this is an intrinsic nature of men. As much as ladies like to see cute (okay, a quick question here, am I cute? Hahahaha) and macho (definitely not me, definitely) hunks, we are also just like the opposite. The more revealing it is, the higher degree of temptation a man needs to overcome. Despite of all that, I personally don't think that revealing the body parts intentionally is sexy. I look at it rather feeling disgusting. Hey, don't ask me how I define sexy! Leave it as my personal space to roam.

It's all about control. And that's why Quran says in Surah An Nur 30 & 31,

Say to the Believers that they cast down their eyes and guard their private parts; that is purer for them; surely God is aware of what they work.(30)

And say to the Believing women that they cast down their eyes, guard their private parts, and not show their adornment, except what thereof is apparent, and let them draw their scarves over their bosoms; and let them not show their adornment, except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands' fathers, or their sons, or their husbands' sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or that their right hands own, or attendants out of men not having sexual need, or children who do not appreciate women's nudities; and let them not stamp their feet so that their hidden adornment becomes known; and turn to God all of you, O Believers, that you may prosper.(31)

And of course this reminds me that the summer is coming soon and I need to lower my gaze. I am telling you all, men have eyesight problem when it comes to the summer. Too many distractions everywhere. And sometimes we win against the temptation, sometimes we lose miserably. That's life and that's a fact. Undoubtedly.

P/S: Quick question, is my English writing real bad? Just wondering though.
