Many things
I seriously have many things to say. For the past two days, I have been doing quite an amount of reading although most of it did not pertain to my study at all. I read from the newspaper, magazine, tv commercials and also street signs. I also read facial expression from people around me. Sadly to say, they told me a lot!
Okay, sorry. I went to the toilet just now, just to pee. On the way walking to the bathroom, I saw a cleaning cart stood next to the bathroom's door. I guessed somebody was cleaning up the toilet. And then a lady came out and asked me, if I wanted to use the bathroom or not. If yes, she would leave me and let me do my business and she would come back and continue cleaning it up. I said yes.
Then I took a pee while listening to the rock and roll music from the radio (probably she brought that radio to accompany her while she's doing her work there). In the meantime, my mind was wondering, what time the housing lady woke up this morning and rushed to work - just to clean this bathroom on Saturday morning!
After I finished peeing and walked out from the toilet, I saw the same housing lady was leaning against the wall in the hallway. I politely introduced myself and asked for her name. Her name is Betty. I told Betty that I was a Resident Assistant back in East Hall Residential area, namely in Brumbaugh Hall and Snyder Hall. I also told her that how much I enjoyed working with the housing staffs whom I didnt quite remember their names by now but I surely miss them.
The sole reason why I miss them is because I like to share stories with them. Okay, now I remember a few names - Brian, Sandy, Lisa, Beth, Becky. I know Brian the garbage cleaner in Snyder would obligely listen to me whenever I had problem, especially when I dealth with some obnoxious residents on my floor. Or Beth, the housing lady in Brumbaugh, who always politely listened to me whenever I got back from the class. I once told her that I liked my partner in my Ballroom Dance class, Melissa. She asked me if I asked this girl's number and I said no. Simply because I thought having a relationship with an American wouldn't last. Well, I was naive and still am. I remember also Beth hugged me on the last day I left Brumbaugh for good. She said, "You take care of yourself honey, ok?". Her thoughtful words and her sweet smile marked my day. There was also one afternoon, I asked for their opinion about which tie should I wear for my formal dinner and to which shirt should I match with that tie. I felt good after listening to their opinions. I didn't know why. However, if I were to serve as an RA again, I swear to God that I will not ever be a Resident Assistant in East Hall anymore. I did my time and enough is enough. Surely I miss them - the housing staffs.
So I told Betty that I miss talking to these wonderful people I met in East Hall. I said, "My family is so far away and yet everytime I talk to the housing staffs, they remind me to my family members". Betty replied, "Don't worry, we all here are friends". Then I said,"Sure!".
I didn't want to keep her from continuing doing her work in the bathroom. So I walked away from the bathroom's door and gave her a one big smile. Betty nicely wished me a Happy Valentine's Day. At first I thought, hey, I didn't celebrate Valentine's Day. Why should I accept such wish? Well but then again, I didn't have the heart to tell her that because I know she just wanted to be nice to me. So I politely replied, "Happy Valentine's Day to you too Betty". And I walked away to my room.
Geezezz...I have plenty of things to write down here, right from the US presidential campaign down to the new human clone issue but I just could'nt let them out from my stinky brain. Maybe I'll write again, some other time today. Allright?
Okay, now time to sleep. Ciao people!
